What is BitCushion?
BitCushion seeks to address generational poverty by giving selected households an unencumbered monthly stipend for a set period of time, giving them the agency and dignity to choose for themselves how best to invest in their future.
We offer financial stipends, or strategic financial cushions, to individuals living in poverty with the interest, drive, and courage to create meaningful change for themselves.
We believe temporary financial support empowers people to make informed investments in their future without creating long-term dependency.
The goal of providing a bit of cushion is to help bring meaningful, consequential outcomes (e.g., gainful employment, health improvement, education advancement, higher school attendance/graduation rates, reduced criminal activity, etc.,) by giving households the freedom, the power, and the means to invest in their future.

Can I donate to BitCushion?
Yes...but not yet...
We are currently conducting a pilot program in New Hanover County, which we hope to transition to a more inclusive and extensive program in the county, and eventually in other North Carolina cities, and beyond!
