What is BitCushion?
BitCushion seeks to improve the wellbeing of people living in poverty by giving approved households an unencumbered monthly stipend for a set period of time, giving them the agency and dignity to choose for themselves how best to invest in their future.
We offer financial stipends, or strategic financial cushions, to individuals living in poverty.
We believe temporary financial support empowers people to make informed investments in their future without creating long-term dependency.
The goal of providing a bit of cushion is to help bring meaningful, consequential outcomes (e.g., gainful employment, health improvement, education advancement, higher school attendance/graduation rates, reduced criminal activity, etc.,) by giving households the freedom, the power, and the means to invest in their future.

How do I become a BitCushion stipend recipient?
Only individuals who are referred by our partner social service organization are eligible.
To qualify, you must be actively participating in one of our partners’ programs for at least three months and be referred by a case manager.
Due to high demand and limited resources:
We cannot assist individuals who are not already working with one of our partner organizations.
We are not able to help you get connected to one of our partner social service organizations. Please contact them directly.
